The Rise of Kyle Scofield: From Underground Rapper to Hip-Hop Sensation
In today's episode we introduce you an upcoming artist from Denver, Colorado : Kyle Scofield !
We interviewed him few days ago :
"When I was 4 years old my parents bought me a drum set. Of course I never knew how to play but my parents would always put on video tapes of old concerts they went to before I was born and I would just bang away on the drum set until I was dropping in sweat and sing until I lost my voice. In a family of musicians I was taught how to play guitar by my late uncle Tim when I was 12 and was taught to play piano by my cousin Matthew around the same age.
In middle I decided to play saxophone and join a jazz band and performed in small concerts with my school across the state.
When I reached high school my love for football put my music passion to the side and I continued my new dream of playing division 1 football at the University of Colorado.
My final year playing our team went to the Alamo Bowl and each player received a 500$ gift card to Amazon. Not knowing what else I would spend this on I bought 500$ worth of music recording equipment and software from Presonus. After my playing days were over I began to feel very weird emotionally across the board. I was diagnosed with Bipolar Depression.
I started free therapy sessions at my university and my therapist told me to keep a journal and write down every single thought I had. When I began to do so I started realizing how I could create patterns of words into verses and choruses.
So I began to turn all of my thoughts and emotions into songs. My cousin Jose Silva is a producer by the name of Kemist, and taught me everything to know about music production and audio engineering and I turned thoughts on a piece of paper into a song that everyone can listen to. Furthermore I found two producers who created the exact sound I was looking for in my music.
Eeryskies (Joshua Carrol) and Stoic (Matthew Moletta). I don’t know exactly where this music journey will take me but if I can create an experience for someone or if my music can help someone get through their day as all of my favorite artists have done for me then I know my job is complete!
Kyle Scofield is truly an artist apart from others in the rap scene, and that's why you should follow him !
