The Fresh Wave: How JAYJ is Shaking Up the Underground Music Scene

In today's episode we introduce you an upcoming artist from  Grand Rapids, Michigan : JAY!

We interviewed him few days ago :

"I started freestyling with my friends when I was in middle school and by the time I was 16 I started doing it at parties, sort of as a "party trick" kind of thing.

People seemed to fuck with it, so that motivated me to start writing actual songs to beats I found on YouTube.

Fast forward to 18, my homie came to my over and showed me this song he made. I was geekin out about it and had to know where he recorded so I could lay something down too.

Ever since then it's been something that I've been passionate about and I fell involve with the process of creating. I didn't really have a "why" at first, I was just doing it because it was fun and it felt good to make something. A few years into it, I realized a lot of people were connecting with my songs where I talked about the struggles I've been through, breakups, depression and things like that.

That's when I found my why. I wanted to positively impact as many people as I could. Whether people listened so they didn't feel alone, or it just made them zone out and not think about the low points in life; it made me feel good to know I could make a difference.

JAYJ is truly an artist apart from others in the rap scene, and that's why you should follow him !
